The Louis Vuitton 35th
America's Cup was
held off of Southsea beach, Portsmouth, UK.

The vessels used are AC45 foiling catamarans.
They have configurable foils below the waterline so that they can raise their hulls out of the water for less drag. This enables them to reach speeds of 50mph+ in very little wind.

The next races will be in Gothenburg, Sweden on 27th - 30th August 2015. After that it's over to Hamilton, Bermuda on 16th - 18th October 2015.

The event will return to Portsmouth again on 21st - 24th July 2016.

The final is in Bermuda in May/June 2017.
