There were 3 Invincible class carriers. HMS Invincible served with distinction in the Falklands war and HMS Illustrious was commissioned on her way to relieve her. HMS Ark Royal was the flagship of the Royal Navy and served all around the world.

They were 22,000 tons fully loaded, 698ft long, a top speed of 30kt, range of 5000 miles and a total crew of 1051.

Sadly, none of them are with us now. Invincible and Ark Royal were towed to Turkey to be scrapped.

Illustrious is now up harbour awaiting her fate too. These were fine ships built to do a job that they performed to perfection.
